My last recipe to share from Chicago has to be a seasonal baking recipe. I’m flying out on the 29th, right before Halloween and want you to have a deliciously easy pumpkin dessert to make for all of your spooky festivities. Enjoying a little pumpkin cake eating party myself may have also been on the to do list.
I’m not that big on costumes or scary movies this time of year, pumpkins and fall flowers are much more my style. But, I do love getting together with friends to sip on themed cocktails and sample all the sweets. My contribution this year is a pumpkin sheet cake hinting notes of almond flour and medjool dates, with a slathering of rich dark chocolate buttercream. A little sprinkling of flaky sea salt and you’ll forget all about that candy basket.
