Join me for a Chocolate and Bordeaux Wine Pairing, inspired by my recent tasting at the Bordeaux Wine Festival! Grab a glass, let’s taste and sip together.
This weekend, the hottest of the year so far, with temperatures in the upper 90s°F (36°C), I attended a Bordeaux wine, and yes, chocolate tasting outside next to the Garonne River. Because… it’s Fête le Vin, and sweltering heat does not keep the Bordelais from celebrating local wines with delicious chocolate. Or maybe it’s just for the tourists, but I’m enjoying all the experiences this gastronomic city has to offer. Even if it means I’ll have melted chocolate on my hands.
Sitting on wooden benches under intense sun-blocking umbrellas, hoping for a breeze while sweat drips down your legs, may not sound like the best time to partake in eating bite-size chocolat, but after a few sips of wine, you’ll barely notice. We all know the French take enormous pride in the quality of their wines just as much as their chocolate. So, anytime you have a chance to learn while savoring, I suggest you take it.
