Well, it’s the first week of May and asparagus is still prominently displayed in all its green glory everywhere fresh vegetables are to be found. The “herb man,” a fond nickname I’ve bestowed upon the vendor resembling a charismatic Vincent Cassel—who sells an array of fresh herbs out of wooden boxes at the Marché des Capucins, has finally emerged from hibernation. A sea of green courgettes continues to catch my eye each time I bike by the neighborhood fruit and veg shop reminding me to eat more veggies.
